Description
Bookery Gallerie is part bookshop, part art gallery, set up in 2021 on Church Street in Lisson Grove, directly across from Alfie's Antiques Market. The space is generous, with high ceilings and four skylights, and it runs a rotating programme of solo and group shows for local and international artists. The leaning is towards experimental and outsider art, and craftsmanship from both established and emerging names.
The gallery grew out of intimate book soirees that drew together writers, musicians and other creatives, and that community feel carries through. It now holds a personal collection of rare and varied books, with events ranging from exhibitions to discussions. The result is a place where books and art sit side by side rather than in separate rooms.
