Berkeley Mews is a through road in W1H connecting Seymour Street to Upper Berkeley Street, running north to south with a short cul-de-sac section partway along. The mews lies just west of Portman Square and forms part of the Portman Estate Conservation Area. It contains 17 properties in two-storey brick buildings, serving a mixture of residential and commercial uses, with both converted and intact garages visible along the run. Berkeley Mews is named after Henry William Berkeley, who inherited the local Portman estate through his mother. A high explosive bomb struck the south-west corner of Portman Square during the Second World War, though the mews itself survived.
