Guests step into a relaxed room with an open kitchen, a central bar and two terraces, including a hidden roof spot that feels like a pocket escape above the street. A host seats each table with pace, then a server explains dishes in plain terms and helps match plates to the moment. Breakfast blends into lunch and dinner, and a weekend brunch draws locals for easy plates and live music. The tone is warm and confident, and the layout makes it simple to see the craft at the pass. For meetings, date nights or family catch ups, the team steers choices so the table feels generous without waste. Offer and trust The menu is led by Stefano Motta, whose travels shape dishes across land and sea. Expect a focused grill, bright salads, handmade pasta and plates built for sharing, plus modern cocktails from the bar. Produce is seasonal and handled with care, so flavours read clean and the cooking feels balanced. The restaurant holds AA 2 Rosettes, a clear signal of consistent quality under inspection. Coverage in respected titles supports authority, and the hotel setting adds operational strength. Booking is simple, terrace seats are heated, and service stays attentive from first pour to last plate. PAUL Baker Street

PAUL Baker Street

PAUL has been serving Londoners since it opened its first London bakery in 2000, building on a story that began in northern France in 1889. In Marylebone, PAUL sits on Marylebone High Street, where the area still feels like a village inside central London, polished, busy, and unforced. The experience is easy to recognise, a French bakery rhythm of warm loaves, neatly finished pastries, and a café counter that works just as well for a quick stop as it does for a slower morning. It is within easy reach of Bond Street and Baker Street, yet it matches the neighbourhood’s own tempo. Expect viennoiserie set out with care, baguettes and other breads to take away, plus simple breakfasts and light lunches that suit a day of appointments, galleries, and shopping. Visitors can sit in for coffee and something sweet, or leave with bread for later. A Dependable Pause for Bread and Pastries The craft shows in the details. Artisan bread anchors the menu, with patisserie favourites and classics such as pain au chocolat, alongside seasonal sandwiches, salads, tarts, cakes and hot drinks. Seating is available for those who want to stay, and practical touches such as disabled access and Wi-Fi help the space work for everyday life, from solo breaks to small meetings. PAUL describes itself as a family company with five generations behind it, and its UK business is registered as PAUL U.K. LIMITED, incorporated in 1999. The brand’s standing is reinforced by its international reach. The company notes that by 2011 it had bakeries on five continents and in more than 45 countries. In Marylebone, that scale is translated into something local and reassuring, a dependable place for good bread, a well-made pastry, and a calm pause in the middle of London.

All About

Baker Street

Baker Street is one of Marylebone's principal north-south thoroughfares, running from Oxford Street in the south to Marylebone Road in the north, spanning both the W1U and NW1 postal districts. The street was laid out in 1755 by William Baker, a gentleman of Marylebone who leased land from the Portman Estate and developed it alongside Orchard Street, Portman Street, and several adjacent roads. The Portman Estate itself traces its origins to 1553, when Sir William Portman acquired the land, though development did not begin in earnest until the mid-eighteenth century.

By 1820, the Portman Estate's development of this part of Marylebone was largely complete, and Baker Street had established itself as a well-regarded residential address lined with Georgian terraces. The street later gained considerable Victorian mansion block development in its northern reaches. Its most famous association is with Sherlock Holmes, Arthur Conan Doyle's fictional detective, whose address of 221B Baker Street has made the street internationally recognised, with the Sherlock Holmes Museum now occupying the relevant stretch.

Baker Street station, opened in 1863 as part of the world's first underground railway, sits at the northern end and reinforced the street's role as a significant transit corridor. The Portman Estate continues to own substantial portions of the southern section. Wigmore Street intersects Baker Street at its mid-point, marking one of the area's key east-west connections.
