Browning Mews is a compact cul-de-sac entered through an archway under a building on New Cavendish Street, W1. It contains five properties, all originally built as stables and grooms' quarters serving 52-56 Wimpole Street. The two-storey brick buildings retain their timber carriage doors and butterfly gable roofs and are largely unaltered. The mews has one well-documented historical footnote: Paul McCartney, who lived at 57 Wimpole Street from 1964 to 1966, used Browning Mews as a discreet exit when fans gathered at the front of the house.
