Bryanston Mews West lies to the west of Bryanston Square, running between George Street and Bryanston Place on the Portman Estate. It contains around 33 properties, a mix of period and later houses on a tarmacadam surface with intact garages still in place. Like its neighbour to the east, it was originally stable accommodation for the square's main terraces and is now residential throughout. The mews gained a footnote in twentieth-century history when model Christine Keeler lived at No. 1 in 1960, in a property connected to landlord Peter Rachman; the address later featured in coverage of the Profumo Affair.
