Cavendish Mews North is a compact, T-shaped cobbled cul-de-sac accessed through an archway under a building on Hallam Street, close to Portland Place in eastern Marylebone (postcode W1W). It contains nine properties, a mix of Victorian and mid-to-late twentieth century buildings, several of which retain original timber coach doors and have later mansard roof additions. The mews originally served as stable accommodation for the surrounding Portland Place townhouses, which were developed under the Howard de Walden Estate on land assembled from the early eighteenth century. The street sits within the Harley Street Conservation Area in the City of Westminster and is now fully residential.
