Clenston Mews is a cul-de-sac off Seymour Place in W1H, within the Portman Estate Conservation Area. At roughly 59 metres long, it contains just two properties, both in commercial use. The mews sits between Bryanston Court and Wythburn Court, adjacent to Wythburn Place, another surviving original mews in the same block. Like many streets in this part of Marylebone, its name derives from Dorset: the Portman family held land at Winterborne Clenston. The surrounding streets developed from late-18th-century fields into a dense grid of terraces and mews over the following decades, and Clenston Mews has remained very small throughout.
