Dean's Mews is a short mews off the north side of Cavendish Square in W1G, on the Howard de Walden Estate. Its name is thought to derive from a Catholic college once located here. The Convent of the Holy Child of Jesus occupied buildings at the entrance from 1889, and the mews suffered bomb damage in the Second World War. Reconstruction in the early 1950s produced the arched bridge linking the two flanking buildings, above which Jacob Epstein's lead sculpture of the Madonna and Child was installed in 1953. The buildings are now owned by The King's Fund.
