Devonshire Close is a mews-style close in W1G, within the Howard de Walden Estate. It was laid out in the 1770s and was originally known as Devonshire Mews East; the name changed to Devonshire Close in 1934. The street name derives from Dorothy Cavendish, daughter of the 4th Duke of Devonshire, who later became Duchess of Portland and through whom the Harley-Cavendish land passed. The close sits directly opposite Devonshire Mews North off Devonshire Street, and the properties are primarily residential.
