Mansfield Mews is a short residential mews running west off Mansfield Street in the W1G portion of Marylebone, within the Howard de Walden Estate. It was built up in the late eighteenth century to serve the new houses in Mansfield Street and Portland Place, and its buildings were historically numbered to correspond with those principal streets. Mansfield Street itself was developed in 1770 to designs associated with the Adam brothers, which gives the immediate surroundings considerable architectural coherence. The mews is now wholly residential, with flats occupying what were originally stable and coach-house structures.
