Portman Mews South is a through road connecting Portman Street to Orchard Street, a short walk south of Portman Square. It was developed as stable and coach house accommodation for the grand houses on Portman Square, part of the Portman Estate's eighteenth-century build-out of this corner of Marylebone. The street was heavily redeveloped over the twentieth century and no original mews buildings survive; the six properties present today are all commercial. The most prominent is the Three Tuns pub at number 1, recorded on this site from at least 1841 and still trading. The mews sits within the Portman Estate Conservation Area. Postcoded W1H.
