Watson's Mews is a short residential mews running off the north side of Crawford Place, in the W1H section of Marylebone. It sits within the Portman Estate, whose land in this part of Marylebone takes its street names from the family's Dorset holdings and, in this corner of the grid, from Arthur Conan Doyle: Crawford Place and its offshoots gave rise to Watson's Mews, a nod to Dr Watson of Baker Street fame. The mews follows the standard pattern of the area: two-storey former stables and coach houses, converted over the twentieth century into private residential homes. There are no commercial units. On-street character is quiet and gate-accessed, typical of the Portman mews stock on this side of Edgware Road.
